Zoppe
They became really famous in Italy. There were two founders
of the circus family namely Napoline, a French and Eermenegilda Zoppe who was
Hungarian. They first met each other in Hungary during the early 1840s. Before
their circus family emerged, Napoline worked as a clown on the streets. On the
other hand Eermenegilda was a ballerina. Her dad did not agree of them falling
in love with other, he hated clowns. But it did not stop them. They ran away to
Italy and made their own circus. Years passed by, the new generation continued
their family’s legacy in America.
Uriases
It started in the year 1912 where Jose Urias created a
circus structure which he called as the “Globe of Death”. Inside the globe, he
runs his motorcycle around the walls with fantastic stunts. His sons and their
sons joined him after. They were also the first one to allow a woman to be on
the center of the said globe while motorcycles run around her. They were also
the first one to have two female riders which happened during the 1970s. Until
now, there are a lot of circuses that wants to try these stunts.
Tognis
It is one of the biggest circus dynasties in Italy. They
have been performing since the 1870s with the help of their founder, Aristide
Togni. He was able to run his own circus with only a few experience. With her 8
children and her wife, they were able to grow their circus business. They had
acrobatics, tumblings and animal acts. They performed as one until his sons
divided the circus into three different kinds of operations. The family has
been very popular of their very magnificent engineered circus materials and
structures which includes the round cupola.
