The Facts About Eclipses

Eclipses is describe in two ways - eclipse of the sun and the eclipse of the moon. When an eclipse occur to the sun, it is called the solar eclipse. On the other hand, when it occurs to the moon it is called the lunar eclipse. If the whole part is being covered, it is called the total eclipse. If only a part, it is called the partial eclipse. Here are more facts about these two kinds of eclipses.

Solar Eclipses
A total eclipses of the sun only occurs when the sun, moon and our world aligns in a straight line. The tilt of the moon affects how many times it happens and thus, it only occurs twice a year. When the moon pushes itself between the Earth and the Sun, it will cast a shadow to the surface of the Earth. The center of the shadow is called the umbra. The surrounding circle is called the penumbra. The umbra moves from the west to the east 1, 600 kilometers per hour. And the only people who can see the eclipse are the one that is on its path. People should wear sunglasses to protect themselves from the rays of the sun while watching it happen, especially staring for  along period of time.
Lunar Eclipses
The earth always cast a shadow on the opposite side of the sun. As the earth rotates around the sun, the shadow also moves with it. The moon, in return, orbits the earth. About once in every 29 days, the moon overtakes the earth's shadow. When the moon passes through the earth's shadow, a lunar eclipse will happen. It can be seen during the night. If the moon passes through the umbra of the earth's shadow, it is called as the umbral eclipse. If it misses the umbra, ir is called as a penumbral.

The Meaning Of Color

Every color has meaning and it affects the mood and even the appetite of a certain. Therefore, here are facts about the 3 basic colors- Red, Blue and Yellow.
RED
Being the longest wavelength, red is an influential shading. Although not in fact the most unmistakable, it has the property of giving off an impression of being closer than it is and subsequently it gets our consideration first. Thus its adequacy in movement lights the world over. Its impact is physical; it fortifies us and raises the beat rate, giving the feeling that time is passing speedier than it is. It identifies with the manly guideline and can enact the "battle or flight" sense. Red is solid, and exceptionally essential. Immaculate red is the least complex shading, with no nuance. It is empowering and exuberant, cordial. In the meantime, it can be seen as requesting and forceful.
BLUE
Blue is the shading of the mind and is basically mitigating; it influences us rationally, instead of the physical response we need to red. Solid soul will empower clear thought and lighter, delicate soul will cool the psyche and help fixation. Subsequently it is tranquil and rationally cooling. It is the shading of clear correspondence. Blue items don't give off an impression of being as near to us as red ones. Over and over in examination, blue is the world's most loved shading. Then again, it can be seen as icy, unemotional and disagreeable.
YELLOW
The yellow wavelength is relatively long and essentially stimulating. In this case the stimulus is emotional, therefore yellow is the strongest hue, psychologically. The right yellow will lift our spirits and our self-esteem; it is the tone of confidence and optimism. Too much of it, or the wrong tone in relation to the other tones in a hue scheme, can cause self-esteem to plummet, giving rise to fear and anxiety. Our "yellow streak" can surface.

Origin of the Domestic Dogs

Most scientists think that the wolf is the main origin of the domestic dogs we find nowadays. However, not only the wolves but also the jackals, coyotes and even the dingoes. One example are the dogs in India which look like the local jackals.
The question was, how were they able to control these wild animals and became their buddies? We all know about the cave people, who lived inside the caves for the rest of their lives, hunting using stones and spears. Often times, these animals would live beside their caves. When these people live, they scavenge for leftover meat. However, some are too cruel and kill these animals, instead. Sometimes, they also play with the young ones.
Years have passed and they got used to it. Their puppies are know grown to be more affectionate to the human beings. They became hunting partners of the humans. They give each other a part of what they were able to catch. Crossbreeding began to happen.
Most famous foxes:
1. Red Fox
The red foxes of America were unlike the foxes that were found in Europe, Asia and North Africa. However, they have similar behavior and looks. They have a sharp and ling nose and they are covered with their golden red coat. These foxes can be also affected with rabies.
2. White Fox ( Arctic)
This kind of fox lives in the most northern part of the world. Its ears are rounded and shorter than ordinary foxes. When summer arrives, their coat turns from whit to dull, gray brown coats. When fall arrives, some became gray blue and some are really white. During the time of summer, they hunt on rodents and lemmings. They also follow polar bears if they spot one to wait for whatever it kills from the sea and tries to share it with them.

Famous Archangels

Angels are known to be people who have wings and the soldiers of heaven. They are celestial beings which were made by the most powerful creator, God. People believe that there are more than billions of them in heaven. However, we will bring to you interesting facts about the most famous and most powerful archangels among the 7 archangels that stands beside the throne of God.
Archangel Michael
If all of the angels were siblings (except for Lucifer), he was the oldest son. But in the sense of war, he was the leader of the angels. He was responsible for banning him from heaven, throwing him in the pit as commanded by their Father. He is known for his mighty sword which is engulfed in bright flames that can cut through a heavenly body. As a reward for obeying the commandment of his father, he was made the prince of all angels.

Archangel Gabriel
He was the angel of Death. He was also the one who told Mary that he will give birth to a Son of God that will be named Jesus. However, the Bible does not name his an archangel. He might be an angel, but he actually scares people, especially when he met Zacharias.

Archangel Raphael
He is the healer. He knows about the most ancient and unique ways of taking care bruises and wounds. He was always the one who was commanded by God to create significant changes to those God loved dearly. He is also considered as an archangel by religions of Judaism and Islam.

Archangel Uriel
He is the "father Earth" he is responsible for the forces of nature and the natural elements. He controls four different kinds of wind, especially destructive storms, floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. He is known as the light or wisdom.

Moon Myths

When it comes to the moon, a lot of relations can be connected to each other. Here are the most interesting ones maybe you never heard of.

Full Moon makes a person mentally crazy

It's bee a long time ago that full moons are connected with incidents like sleepwalking, odd suicide, illegal activity, violence and werewolf transformations. The known Roman Moon Goddess is named Luna and this is where the words "lunatic" and "lunacy" was derived from her name. Until now, many health professionals, especially the doctors strongly agree to the connection between mania and the moon. Long time a go in England, people who commit crimes on the full moon are given light punishments.

There are Aliens living in the moon

An astronomer named Franz von Paula Gruithuisen believed that he saw a glimpse of the cities found in the moon using his telescope. He called them "lunarians". Many opposed him but a British astronomer and composer supported his belief. Until now, there are still instances when they see something strange on the moon especially if they are taken by videos and seen on photographs.

Fake Landing to the Moon

There had been many false beliefs and conspiracies about the Apollo landing to the moon and one of which is that they didn't really went to the moon and the NASA faked its exploration outer space. A lot of documents claimed that during that time, they were not advanced yet to be able to rocket themselves to the moon and returning home safe. One "evidence" was the fluttering flag even with the presence of vacuum in space.

Nazi Base on the Moon

From connection with the aliens, to the Illuminati and now to the moon itself. When the WWII ended, it was reported that German astronauts a highly-exclusive facility in the moon and Adolf Hitler's death was a fake. Instead, the people rumored that he fled to the moon and lived in an underground hideout.

States of Matter

There aren't just three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas. . There are actually four which are solid, liquid, gas and plasma. Here are facts about them.
solid has a definite volume and definite shape. Its particles are held together in a fixed positions and the motions are restricted. Most solids expand slightly when heated. This property makes solids such as wood, iron and cement suitable as construction materials.
liquid has also a fixed volume but doesn't have a fixed shape. It takes whatever the shape of a container it is in. The particles are free to move anywhere inside the container. They are a little compressible.
gas doesn't have a fixed volume and a shape because its particles are really far away and have complete freedom of motion to assume the shape of a closed container and to fill its entire volume. Gases are highly compressible. Under increase of pressure the volume of gas decreases. It allows a large volume of oxygen to be kept in big tubes.
Chemical and Physical Properties of Matter
Physical properties are characteristics of a substance which can be observed without changing the composition of the substance. Some examples are boiling point, melting point, density color, order, hardness, electrical and thermal conductivity,  tenacity, elasticity and plasticity. Examples are breaking sticks into small pieces, cutting a piece of paper into bits, melting an ice to a water and also freezing it back.
Chemical properties are characteristics that a substance exhibits when it undergoes change in composition. These properties are related to the kind of chemical changes that substances undergo during chemical reactions. For instance, when coal, which is mostly carbon, burns, it combines with oxygen gas to form the gaseous compound called carbon dioxide. There are two properties, intensive and extensive properties.

Measurement

The International System Unit [SI]
It was already a long time since the metric system was used for the first time. Although, it was officially established in 1960 during the 11th General Conference on Weights and Measures.
Temperature
It measures the hotness or coldness of an object. It can also know if what direction is the flow of the hat. Like for an example, a glass of hot milk can be felt by the glass because heat is transferred. It always flows from a high temperature to a lower one.
There are three temperatures scales we can choose. The three are Celsius (C), Fahrenheit (F) and  Kelvins (K). The boiling point of water is 100 degrees Celsius while its freezing point is 0 degrees Celsius. On the Fahrenheit scale, the freezing point is 32 F and the boiling point is 212 F. For Kelvin scale, the freezing point of water is 273 K and 373 K. Although when using kelvin, you do not put the degree sign.
Derived Units
There are seven fundamental SI Units. These are the length, mass, time, electrical unit, temperature, amount of substance and luminous intensity. The mixture of these units are called derived units. One is speed which is the distance over time. Volume is a very important aspect especially during chemistry laboratory. There are many equipment to use to measure volume, examples are beaker, graduated cylinder, pipet, buret, syringe, volumetric flask and many more. The third example is the specific gravity which is the ratio of the density of any substance on a same temperature.
Precision and Accuracy
Precision is one of the many ways on how to check measurements. It conveys how close to several measurement to a same value. Accuracy is also another way. It will tell you how close it is to the true or accepted value.

Facts About Chemistry

Chemistry is the study of the composition of matter, its properties, and the changes it undergoes. It is a part of a body of knowledge called science. It is also considered as a practical science since it will make us comprehend our surroundings and the process of it. Chemistry is also the center of all science because the almost all careers use this branch.
Not one part of science can only work alone. Each branch of science works together. Even if you're just a bartender, a cashier an architect or a teacher, you still have to learn even basic chemistry. For example, mixing a coffee properly which means you have the right amount of caffeine, sugar and maybe cream and the right temperature of water. Those health conscious are also aware of how much food they need to eat or what kind of food they have to intake.
Along with geology, astronomy and physics, Chemistry is part of Physical Sciences. Chemistry is related to other science through biochemistry ( which is under biological sciences) and Chemical Physics which is under Physics.
Technology is connected to science. In fact, it is the application of science for the purpose of making the life of the humans better. Cellphones, telephones, computers and processed food are just examples. However, technology can be a disadvantage to some people if abused.
Cloning is one example of improvement of technology through science. Although, there had been a lot of debates relating to ethics and religion. Dolly the sheep and CC(Copy Cat) were examples of products. However, scientists argued that it was not intended to clone humans but to further understand why diseases occur and to be able to stop them.
Another is the development of computers. They used to be really big. Now, you can carry them everywhere along with you.

About Essays

Essay writing is a requirement in order to have academic success. There are four main types of essay and each type of essay is named according to what the writer’s goal is. These four major types of essay are narrative essay, descriptive essay, expository essay, and persuasive essay. In a narrative essay, the writer or author narrates his or her story based on his or her experiences in real life. It has a plot, characters, setting, and etc. This type of essay usually uses the first person point of view. The descriptive essay is similar and alike to the narrative essay. In this type of essay, the writer describes any kinds of topic such as a person, a thing, or a place. The writer or author uses descriptive, colorful, or flowery words that are mostly sensory. The expository essay exposes ideas and analysis of a topic. It is mainly informative and it is usually written by the use of stating facts, statistics, comparing and contrasting, defining, giving examples, and telling the causes and effects. An expository essay should have a thesis statement. This is the most common essay which uses the five paragraph format that is composed with an introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. Writers or authors do not use the first person point of view in writing an expository essay. In a persuasive essay, the writer or author also presents and states facts and gives expert reasoning in order to convince the readers to agree on the writer’s point. This type of essay is also known as the argumentative essay in which the writer or author must have a stand on a certain topic. Just like an expository essay, a persuasive essay should also have a thesis statement and may also use the five paragraph format.

Nail Polish

About
A nail polish is a kind of paint that is applied to the nails or nail plates on the fingers and toes for protection and decoration or beautification. Nail polish originated in China wherein they mix it with beeswax, egg whites, vegetable dyes, and gum Arabic, a natural gum made of hardened sap. In Egypt, nail polish is worn by the lower class with pale colors while it is worn by the higher class with the red color.
There are three types of polish namely the base coat, the top coat, and the gel. The base coat is used before applying the polish to the nail. It is clear and opaque pink colored and it is used to moisture the nail and to strengthen it. The top coat is used after applying the polish. It is clear colored and its purpose is to prevent the polish from being chipped, scratched, and peeled. The gel is applied to let the polish last up to two weeks with proper care before chipping. It needs to be cured under an ultraviolet lamp in order for it to be dried up. It is very difficult to remove compared to the traditional and regular nail polish because it has to be soaked under an acetone for a eight to fifteen minutes before gently pushing it off. The ingredients of a nail polish are plasticizers, dyes, pigments, polymers, adhesive thickening agents, and ultraviolet stabilizers. Nail polish formulations may have ingredients that are toxic and cause cancer.
Experts suggests that some inhaled and absorbed ingredients may be human reproductive toxicants which means that it can cause birth defects, low birth weight, miscarriage, and preterm birth. Although nail polish is very common to people especially to women and is used as a part of fashion or a form of art, it is still considered a hazardous waste.

Toothpick

A toothpick is used after every meal to remove detritus or food that is stuck between the teeth. It is a small stick that has one or two sharp ends and is usually made out of wood, plastic, bamboo, metal, or bone. A toothpick can also be used as a cocktail stick and as a tool for picking up small food such as cheese cubes and olives. Wooden toothpicks in America are made from birch wood. First, logs are cut into thin sheets in a spiral manner. Then, they are chopped and milled. Lastly, they are bleached so that the toothpicks will be lightened.

The toothpick is the oldest device for dental cleaning and it is known to come before the arrival of early modern people since it is shown by the skulls of Neanderthals and Homo sapiens that they have teeth which are picked with a tool. In Florida, researchers discovered the remains of ancient Native Americans which are seven thousand and five hundred years old. In the year 1986, the researchers found out that between the molar teeth of the remains have small spaces or hollows. Before the invention of the toothbrush, hard and as well as soft dental woods are used to clean the teeth. They are well known in Northern Italy, in the East Alps, in Mesopotamia, and with the Romans.
Toothpicks in the 17th century were considered as luxurious things just like the jewelry items. They were made out from precious metal and they are also set with expensive stones as they were enameled and stylized artistically from time to time. In the modern times, toothpicks are not known to be luxury objects anymore. They are now mainly used for dental cleaning similar to that of a dental floss and a toothbrush. They are also used to pick up small appetizers during occasions that are festive and are sometimes styled or decorated with plastic frills and small paper flags.
