Harry Potter, Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, The Hunger Games, Safe Heaven, these are some of the books that were so in demand that producers decided to make them into a movie. However, is the movie better generally or vice versa? Find out when we compare.
According to this infograph, the average book rating is relatively higher than movie rating except for the Social Network. But what makes the book better than movies?
You can make your own imagination with books
As you start reading the title of the book, your imagination is already going crazy. Every words that your eyes pass are filled with different meanings that will create images in your minds. In movies, not all will be satisfied with what the producers imagined it to be. For example, many women have different imaginations for the role of Christian Grey. Some used celebrities and others made up their own "Christian Grey". Therefore, we cannot say that Jamie Dornan satisfies the vision of women. We have unique kinds of creative minds and thus, one movie doesn't support it all. Imagination can be beneficial for a person to develop creativity in his or her own way.
Not all scenes in the book will be shown in the movie
Unlike Harry Potter series which the movies are almost the same with the book, most of the films have a limited story line. Sometimes even, the most important events are cut out because the movie duration should not exceed 3 hours. Especially when there are a lot of inner dialogue where the person is talking to him/herself, it will not be simple to translate it visually in the movie. When a part of the book is missing, the story is not complete at all cause every scene is an important aspect.
