Facts About Amusement Parks

An amusement park, or also known as a theme park, is a place with a group of attractions and rides for the entertainment and enjoyment of people of all ages. It is often referred to as a funfair, and it is more elaborated than a simple playground and a city park. Amusement parks may be educational, family-owned, or regional. Educational theme parks use rides and attractions for educational purposes. The first successful educational theme park was named Epcot, and it was opened by Disney in 1982. It was the second park in the Walt Disney World Resort. Other theme parks called the Holy Land USA and as well as the Holy Land Experience are built to inspire Christian piety.

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens focus on animal education and are housing several thousand animals such as fish and other sea creatures, while Dinosaur World entertain a lot of people with dinosaurs in the natural setting. There are also theme parks that are family-owned such as the Knott’s Berry Farm. Knott and his family were first selling berries and had a restaurant serving fried chicken dinners but because of lines that are several hours long, they decided to entertain the waiting crowds with a Ghost Town. Other theme parks were the Lake Compounce, which is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the United States, Santa Claus, which used a Santa Clause theme, and Marvel Cave, which eventually became the Silver Dollar City owned by the Herschends along with other parks including Dollywood, Celebration City, and Wild Adventures.
Some regional parks were the Six Flags in 1961 near Dallas which was the first regional theme park by Angus Wynne, Jr., Walt Disney World in 1971 in Florida, Magic Kingdom also in 1971, Epcot in 1982, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 1989, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998.

Pin Facts

A pin is an object that is used to keep or fasten things together and is somewhat related to a nail but the difference is that pins are smaller than nails. There are three parts of a pin namely the head, the body, and the tip. The head is often made out of plastic while the body and the tip are made of steel, copper, or brass. The body is long because it is the part where the things are fastened together. The pin is ended with the sharp tip in order to make a very small hole to the fastened things.

There are three main categories of pins namely the sewing and fashion pins, the general purpose pins, the steel pins without a head, and the mechanical fasteners. Safety pins, bobby pins, collar pins, lapel pins, and other types of hairpins are examples of the sewing and fashion pins. Bobby pins and hairpins are used to grip the hair. Collar pins are used to hold the collar and lapel pins are used to decorate the clothes. General purpose pins are composed of the push pins, also known as the thumbtacks, and the paper crickets, push pins which are new.

Steel pins without a head are thin and hard pins used in woods in order not to be seen. Pins are also associated to engineering and in machines where they are commonly used to locate or hold parts and are known as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures and all of these are examples of the mechanical fasteners. Under the mechanical fasteners, there are large types of pins that has been known for a long time and these are called cylindrical pins, solid tapered pins, groove pins, slotted spring pins, spirally coiled spring pins, clevis pins, cotter pins, and split pins.
